Workplace Violence and
Active Shooter Survival
Employee Training
**Be Prepared, Not Scared**
While the thought of Workplace Violence or an Active Shooter situation can be terrifying, being prepared can empower individuals and organizations. With the proper training, both you and your team will have the tools and confidence needed to respond effectively, potentially saving your life and others.
Why is Workplace Violence and Active Shooter Training Essential for All Organizations?
In an era where safety and security are paramount, no organization is exempt from potential threats. From corporate environments to educational institutions and places of worship, the risk of Workplace Violence or an Active Shooter situation is real and ever-present. No week goes by that there isn't another report of violence spoken about in the news.
Startling Statistics:
Over the past decade, active shooter incidents have increased significantly.
Active shooter incidents in workplaces have caused substantial casualties, affecting employees, customers, and other innocent bystanders.
Schools and universities have not been immune, with numerous high-profile incidents causing grief and trauma to communities.
Sacred spaces, such as churches and temples, which once were considered safe havens, have sadly not been spared, with several attacks recorded in recent years.

At LETS, we recognize that preparation can make all the difference. Here's why our training is the best choice for your organization:
As part of our commitment to ensuring a safe work environment,
compliant with California Labor Code Section 6401.9 (formerly known as SB 533),
Law Enforcement Training Solutions (LETS), LLC, offers a comprehensive service
program specifically for your agency to assess and enhance our preparedness for
workplace violence prevention and active shooter scenarios.
Classroom Training Program:
The four-hour staff training program will be conducted on-site by former Law Enforcement Officers with experience in SWAT Operations, Dignitary Protection, and Emergency Management. The training curriculum is designed to educate staff on effectively responding to workplace violence and active shooter situations and includes:
Understanding Workplace Violence: Types and Indicators
Reporting Potential or Actual Workplace Violence or Active Shooter Incidents
Recognizing early signs of Workplace Violence and Active Shooter Incidents
Communication Protocols During Emergencies - before during, and after public safety response
Hands-on Scenario-Based Drill
Exit Interview Assessment for Threat Potential:
LETS offers an “as needed basis” and “in-depth of interview” employee exit interview. The interview will be conducted with a member of your staff and members of LETS who are trained to interview people and make qualified assessments and recommendations of the potential threat level.
Onsite Facility Vulnerability Assessment:
LETS will conduct detailed on-site training and manual review sessions. Our team consists of professionals with extensive Law Enforcement experience and in the areas of SWAT Operations, Dignitary Protection, and Emergency Management, and ensuring high-level expertise and practical insights in handling critical situations.
The assessment will cover areas such as:
Facility Information
Neighborhood Crime Analysis
Review of present Required CalOSHA Documents/Reports (not an actual review of the said documents - see Policy Review/Update Section)
Review of Neighborhood Emergency Services
Exterior Assessment for possible vulnerabilities
Interior Assessment for possible vulnerabilities
Access Control review for possible vulnerabilities
Each site will be examined, and the vulnerability assessment will include pictures of the facilities vulnerabilities to visually document conditions and areas of concern. In addition to the comprehensive assessment, recommendations for addressing identified vulnerabilities will be offered.
Manual Review and Update:
A manual/policy review and update to meet and exceed the minimum requirement by CalOSHA for California Labor Code Section 6401.9 (formerly known as SB 553). This manual can also include a tabletop exercise program or the development of actual hands-on training involving all staff members.
A thorough review and update of the current Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) and related safety manuals will be conducted by our team of experts. This will ensure all procedures are up-to-date and compliant with the latest regulatory requirements and will incorporate insights and feedback from the training sessions.
Compliance with California Labor Code Section 6401.9 (formerly known as SB 533)
